Matthew's Dream Soccer Trip

Matthew Banks is an aspiring soccer athlete that plays with the U.S. Soccer Development Academy in Loudoun (Loudoun Soccer Club). He is half Brazilian/half American (soccer does not run in his dads genes, ha) and with most Brazilians, soccer or futebol runs in his blood. Like most of our kids, he started off by scoring on his own team when he was 4 (I will never let him forget that, go Green Machines) and we moved to Brazil when he was 6. From there he trained daily on his foot skills, passing and finishing.

Our family comes from humble beginnings, but unlike most kids, he has faced more adversity than I like to have wished for. He lost his mom to a tragic accident when he was 5, since then we have fostered and even more "family-first" mentality and focused on school, sports, friends, and family! Matthew has taught me, as his dad that adversity should never define who you are or are going to be, but use that as fuel to show others what you can become, despite not being "normal". He has made me a better father and person because of his love and resiliency he has taught me.

I give my kids my world, down to the last penny, and this latest achievement of Matthew has me running around wondering how I can make this happen for him.

Matthew tried out for an elite soccer team from the U.S. that will be traveling to Spain to experience different training methods via professional Spanish clubs and to create a memorable experience for young players to help them strive to accomplish their individual goals in the sport of soccer.

The trip will be from June 28 - July 9, 2018 and will be culminating in an International Soccer Tournament called the Donosti Cup. I will post to Matthew's YouTube Page (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_R1NJLpW7xcoe2Eyg-qVTQ) to show everyone that the kindness showed can directly impacted his life.

His position is Striker and Center Mid, Right Wing, and Left Wing... he is fast, has vision to pass to the open player, loves his teammates, has the Brazilian Ginga, and will play soccer 24/7. His favorite player is Neymar Jr and favorite team is Paris Saint-Germain F.C.

I pray you find it in your heart to bless Matthew "Matheuszinho" with a donation for his trip to Spain. No donation is too big or small. Thank you!
