Matthew’s Fight with Astrocytoma
Donation protected
Sunday, March 4th, my sister’s boyfriend, Matt was taken to UIC after they discovered a brain tumor on a CT scan. He had been having severe headaches for a while—worse in the morning after waking up, blurred vision, and nausea and vomiting. MRI confirmed a tumor on his frontal and temporal lobes with some of it invading brain tissue. Upon biopsy, the report shows a low grade astrocytoma which is a form of brain cancer. There is also a suspicious area that may be deeper and possibly a higher grade. He will need this area biopsied as well. Matt will need to endure another major brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as they can and begin chemo/radiation. This will be a long and difficult road. We are all confident he will beat this with the knowledge of his medical team and wonderful support of his family and friends...and of course prayers for strength and comfort through all of this. Please help ease the difficulties that lie ahead from hospitalizations and bills. Any little bit helps. Thank you so much!❤️
