Matt O'Dell Treatment Fund

Hello,
My name is Melissa (Missy) Sprouse and I am a cancer survivor. Recently my 23 year old maternal cousin, Matthew O'Dell was diagnosed with brainstem glioma. On August 2nd, Matt will begin radiation at U of M to prolong life as well as provide quality to his days but doctors are telling him that his condition is terminal. We are still praying for a miracle and know that we serve a God of miracles! Matt has, in his young life already served in the Marines for 4 years, active duty in both 2009 (Iraq) and 2011 (Afghanistan) and began as a cadet at Sheridan Township Fire Department at just 16 years old. Matt has survived losing his father to lung cancer, his brother to leukemia and his half sister to breast cancer. He was able to lend comfort as only another child can, during the loss of my mother to breast cancer then once again as a grown man when my twin passed away at in 2005 due to a tragic car accident. During my own cancer diagnosis, mastectomy and treatment at age 30 I remember Matt as always, a tower of strength and healing dry humor. Matt is now the proud husband to young professional and cancer survivor Jamie (Towery) O'Dell and father of sweet and energetic two year old, Claire O'Dell who's birth Matt had to miss as he was overseas. Matt is wise beyond his years, which is why his greatest wish is in knowing that his daughter and wife will be taken care of and provided for long after he is unable to do so himself as promised in his vows. It is the desire of my heart that you could facilitate this self-proclaimed wish by donating emergency financial assistance to aid the family in covering medical expenses and deductibles, mortgage payments, gas to and from 5-day a week treatments and allow for a cushion long term. It is my hope that this funding will provide Matt a peace that passes all understanding in the days to come so that he could spend this precious time with his family not worrying, but LIVING.
