Flood Recovery

As many of you know a recent storm devistated many lives. From those in Rockport and Port Aransas that dealt with the full blow of a Category 4 to all corners of south east Texas that dealt with the flooding from Saturday through today Tuesday 8/28/17.
Unfortuneately I was not ready for the flood and at around 6 pm on 7/26/17 Sunday the water started to rise in our neighborhood. We live in Katy, Tx west of Houston . By 11pm water started to go above our mailboxes and into my home. The speed of the water rising was scary, so when the water got to about knee high in my home I thought it best to run my children and wife to a neighbors house about 3 houses down where no water had entered her home yet. That was a scary move with water waste high trying to get my kids moved in the middle of the night. A few minutes after going into our neighbors even her home got about ankle deep in water.
After about 6 am the rain finally slowed down enough to allow the water to begin to recede. I went to look at the house and the photos will show the story. We mitigated our damages by raising most of our personal belongings on top of our beds when we saw the water start to rise. Unfortunately we still had many of our furiture, bed matress and clothing lost .
I was blessed to hear that many family and friends wanted to help with clothing and monetarily to help with this sudden cost. We set up this Go Fund me for that purpose. Any little helps to cover for furniture, and clothing.
I say this knowing how bad many others are facing problems all over the Houston area much worse off than us. I am blessed my wife and 4 kids are ok and healthy. Again if you can help it would be greatly appreciated. Go fund me recomends I set a timetable. To that I say when possible . I really just need any help I can get. My landlord does not have flood insurance so I don't know how long it will be for the house itself gets repaired. I unfortunatley did not have rental insurance for our belongings. For now at least having piece of mind that some of my kids clothing and our furniture and mattess can be replaced will mean more to my family than you can ever imagine.
