Hi everyone,
ALL the money generated from your donations will go directly to the Mater Foundation [CHY9768]. Your donation will support frontline staff and patient care in the fight against Covid-19 and I hope you will join me in supporting them.
The Mater Public Hospital is the national centre for lung health, and emergency respiratory life support (ECMOs). Frontline staff at the Mater are at the centre of the fight to stop Covid-19. They must also continue to provide care for patients with other life-threatening conditions such as cancer and heart disease.
By donating today, you can help provide vital medical equipment to The Mater Public Hospital such as ultrasound machines, ventilators and ECMOs.
About the 'Homebird' painting
By making a donation to the Mater Foundation through this page, you will be automatically entered into a giveaway over on my Instagram page for my newest painting titled 'Homebird', pictured above. I will be conducting the instagram giveaway on Friday 1st May at 3pm. Please leave your name when donating if you wish to be part of this.
With this original painting, I wanted to encapsulate the positive power of group effort through individual actions. The phrase ‘homebird’ regularly describes a softer side to people. Except in times like these. Now, it is a word that describes group action and strength towards positive change.
Sitting at home over the past few weeks has been strange. Sometimes feeling isolated from family and friends, yet intrinsically connected to each other - through shared experiences, uncertainty and hope.
For many, home has recently become a destination for work, education, creativity and communication in equal balance. It is not just a place to share moments with family or friends, it is a place that keeps us safe, it is our lifeline.
We are homebirds.
