Art is when YOU hear a knocking from your SOUL and you ANSWER. I've answered my calling to be an artist.
Some people write stories, play music, sing, dance, act, to express themselves and not be afraid to be bold. I paint with bold colors. I'm a painter and I want to share my art with you. My name is Mary Mirabal. I'm an artist and a dreamer who loves to paint contemporary abstract expressionist artwork. I dream of creating a wonderful life for my beautiful family. My dreams come to life through my artwork from years of experience of being a wife, mother, grandmother, "Gigi," while discovering my true self.
I discovered myself when I visited Sante Fe for the first time with my husband 25 years ago. The crystal blue skies, majestic land, and sacred mountains of Santa Fe, New Mexico, opened my eyes to a new world of COLOR. Several years ago I picked up a paintbrush for the first time. Since then I've been an abstract artist, working primarily in acrylics. Abstraction found me as a style. I paint intuitively with bold colors and composition. Most of my work is inspired by the splendid beauty of Santa Fe.
I'm a transplanted Floridian and my artwork has been exhibited locally at the following places: Scarfone Hartley Gallery at the University of Tampa, Gallery3 at Hillsborough Community College, Spectrum Communications, The Tampa Museum of Art, Red Door no. 5 Gallery, The Rialto Theatre, and numerous group shows. But my soul resides in Santa Fe, which happens to be the third largest arts community in the U.S.
Painting is an ongoing spiritual journey for me and I want you to be a part of it. With your help, I'll be able to pursue an art residency opportunity in Santa Fe, which will take place for 2 months, during the summer of 2018. I've been invited to do live painting demos outside one of Canyon Road's finest art galleries.
You may ask yourself why help an artist pursue their dream? Because I know nothing is possible without the support of people who not only believe in you...but believe in what you're doing. And I believe we can make this happen! A donation towards this campaign will not only be a gift to me, but a gift for you as well. Each donor will receive a special gift.
