Marti Davis's Medical Fund

Marti Davis is a self-employed mobile dog groomer whose passion for animals began at an early age. She began her business, Martis Mobile Pet Spa, in 2007 and since then has become a beloved and respected pet stylist in the Charlotte community. Usually she can be seen driving around the city in her colorful salon on wheels six days per week in order to accommodate all of her loyal clients and spend time with her furry friends, leaving them more beautiful than one would think possible.  Anyone who has met Marti also knows that in addition to her love of animals, she is a faithful humanitarian, always ready to give of herself financially and in any other way she can to help those in need. Marti also cares for several family members on a regular basis, never asking for anything in return. Marti is the type of person who will give anything she has in her purse to a stranger down on their luck , faithful that God will provide for her.

Now, for the first time in her life, Marti needs help from all of us. Early last week, Marti fell extremely ill and ended up in the hospital where she was diagnosed with a severe intestinal infection. The infection is thought to be caused by an adverse reaction to a simple antibiotic that Marti took for a dog bite she suffered a couple weeks back. Never did she think the unimaginable would happen to her as a result.  She has been hospitalized for about a week, and though she hopes to come home soon, her recovery has been slow-going, leaving her very weak. Since Marti is self-employed, she is losing income each and every day she is hospitalized, which is devastating to her livelihood. In addition to thousands of dollars in lost income, Marti has a $6,000 health care deductible plus 30% coinsurance that she must pay for her extensive medical treatment. She remains in good spirits, but is understandably worried for her health and financial state at this point. Marti is so humble that she does not like asking for help, but the fact is that she NEEDS help right now, and she needs her spirit of giving to be reciprocated by her family, friends, and the community.

Thank you for supporting Marti and her health recovery by giving anything you can– no amount is too small. She needs to feel the love that she constantly gives others. In addition to financial help, she also asks for prayers and positive thoughts. I will provide updates about Marti's health and recovery as they become available.
