Mark's Memorial Fund for Carson

Mark DeVries was a friend of many, a son, a brother and most of all, a father.  So, following his untimely death at only 37 years old, Mark leaves behind many that cared deeply for him, none more important than his only son, 10 year old Carson.

Mark was a hardworking and caring dad who would do anything for his best buddy Carson.  Carson is a bright, vibrant young man with a big future ahead of him.  He loves to play hockey and video games,  and in general, just be a kid. 

But this tragic event has profoundly impacted young Carson and forever will.  He has been so amazingly strong and courageous the entire time; he truly has shown maturity far beyond his years.  Considering his composure and how well Carson handled this at only 10 years old, it is clear that in no time Carson will grow to be a leader of tomorrow.

However, for today and the imminent years to come, we want to ensure that Carson remains a kid; innocent, fun, and able to enjoy all of the small and wonderful things that life has to offer him.  Whether it is continuing to play hockey or video games, or helping him through school, there is so much we can do to support him.

And as Mark always wanted to ensure the best for Carson, in lieu of flowers or other funeral donations, we have setup this fund in Mark's memory, to support Carson directly as he begins to move forward in the next stages of his life.
