Mark Harris's Apple TV Quest

Mark Harris was a September 11th New York City Rescue Paramedic that was buried under the rubble and dust that morning. Mark Harris was an American hero and a great American. Mark's professional life was dedicated to saving lives and reducing human suffering and he was amazing at it and that's exactly what he did and what he was doing when he became trapped and buried at the world Trade Center September 11, 2001. Mark suffered various respiratory illnesses and three cancers. The final being mouth, neck and throat cancer. He had his tongue and other parts of his mouth and jaw removed this past November and was on life support and then had a trac and a feeding tube just in time to find his third cancer...stage 4 in his neck. All from the inhalation of toxic materials.
The hero inside of him was larger than life. Mark was just the guy next door but a man's man with incredible memories of a little boy who never got over the excitement of ambulances and trucks and sirens and danger…but inside he was the same man with wants and worries and unfulfilled dreams…but he stood taller them most of us because he was a New York City Fire Department Rescue Paramedic who put it all on the line that morning …he was both at once the most fortunate and least fortunate of men…He left the house everyday to save lives because he had seen to much death but yet he was the gentlest of men because he had seen the awesome power of violence out of control…He was very responsive to every child’s laughter because his tremendous arms had held to many small bodies that would never laugh again….He was a husband who appreciated the simple pleasures of life…our morning coffee held in his numb unbending fingers…our warm bed for his bones and muscles filled with pain all the time…always holding in his heart the camaraderie of all the brave men…He held his head tall in peace of selfless service of a job well done…

Mark spent weeks at a time in the hospital under treatment. He had to learn how to talk with his new tongue and he had to learn to swallow so he can learn to eat and drink again. The days in the hospital were long and the nights longer and a basic TV in our room was not enough to keep his mind busy. Being we have 4 children he knew that children with cancer needed more.
Mark told Ms.Kymberlee Mani...The COO of The University Of Miami Hospital the first week we were there that when he was healthy and cancer free it was his mission to make sure every child on the cancer floor each had an Apple T.V. or Ipad.

Mark Harris's motto was-
An Apple T.V. in a child's hospital room everyday
Helps a child with cancer fly the time away!

Mark Harris, My husband, my Hero...lost his battle to cancer on May 13.  I was so incredibly proud to be his wife.

Please help me turn Mark's dream into a reality and make a child with cancer have an easier time, some happiness and things to do while they receive treatment. I have to admit, Mark became a Paramedic becuase when he was little boy he watched a TV show called...Emergency...and from the very first show he knew he wanted save lives and be John Gage!

No amount is too small. The children need you. Mark and I need your help to help children with cancer. Please don't turn away...Give today
