Mark Lowry Recovery Fund

Donation protected

Please help support University of Houston alumni, Mark Lowry with overwhelming medical expenses and household expenses while he fights for recovery from a massive stroke.

Mark recently suffered a paralyzing and blinding stroke that has left him without the use of his right side and left him blind in his right eye. The stroke occurred just weeks before Thanksgiving as he and his wife of 17 years, Jettie Lowry, were out eating dinner November 15th. Mark was immediately rushed to Methodist Hospital where he underwent surgery to relieve swelling in his brain. Mark remained in ICU for the next 3 weeks clinging to life. CAT Scans revealed massive damage to his left side of his brain. In order to relieve pressure and allow for swelling, they had to do a craniotomy and remove a large portion of his skull. In addition, results have revealed several blood clots behind his right knee. Upon release from ICU, Mark was transferred to Methodist's long-term care facility where he has begun the road to recovery. Every day he endures 3 hours of grueling rehabilitation to try and help with his recovery. Over the past several weeks he has made some remarkable progress, however, he remains paralyzed on the right side. Mark is determined to make a good recovery and try and regain a somewhat normal life.

Mark and Jettie, who reside in the Garden Oaks area of Houston, are good honest people that have been truely great friends to all that know them. They are in dire need of ANY and ALL support that we can provide. PLEASE help by way of secured donations via http://www.gofundme.com/Mark-Lowry or by purchasing tickets and/or BBQ plates on February 8th at our Benefit for Mark BBQ Fundraiser located at Buffalo Fred's on N. Shepherd Drive in the Heights.
