In March 2009, our colleague, family member and friend, Mark Anthony Nunez, was unexpectedly diagnosed with Follicular Dendritic Cell Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Mark Anthony is the 49th reported case, and the first case where the cancerous tumor has lodged itself to a spinal cord. Mark Anthony began his treatment in May 2009, and is continuing to fight the effects of this illness on him, his partner Jerry Stark, and their family.
For those of you who know Mark Anthony, you know the fierce love he has for those around him. You also know that he would do anything for anyone. Now Mark Anthony is in need of some help from his friends and family as well as their friends and family. As most of you know he is fighting his cancer and is quickly running out of money while his medical bills keep piling up. If you can help with even $5 that is great!
Mark Anthony is a dedicated member of the Betty Torricelli Institute for Breast Care at Hackensack Medical Center for over 18 years.
Although Mark Anthony is weak and now paralyzed from the waist down, he continues his fight against this severe illness. Even though this illness is very serious and he has a long battle ahead, Mark Anthony is resilient and continues to battle this cancer with the support of his friends by his side.
Unfortunately, due to the extensive medical treatments, the medical costs are increasing the burden and demands on Mark Anthony during this difficult time. We, his friends and family, have created this fundraiser to help alleviate the significant cost associated with this terrible illness.
Donations of any amount will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much, and please keep Mark Anthony in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
If you are not comfortable doing a donation online with a credit card, you can mail a donation to Mark Anthony Nunez, C/O his partner Jerry Stark, 875 Boulevard East, Weehawken, NJ 07086, please make check payable to the "Friends of Mark Anthony Nunez".
