¿Qué sería de nosotros sin nuestros amigos? La amistad es uno de los regalos más exquisitos que nos da la vida y sin lugar a dudas ocupa una parte muy importante de nuestra felicidad. A medida que pasan los años, los amigos reales son un regalo de mucha suerte, no se pueden comprar, ni mandar a hacer, sino que se cruzan en nuestra vida y tenemos la suerte de que se han quedado por más de las dos terceras partes de nuestra vida.
Esta campaña de recolección de fondos tiene un objetivo específico la salud de Marco Durán, nuestro amigo, hermano, hijo y padre; quien está pasando por un cáncer. En el mes de mayo de 2019 fue diagnosticado con GLIOBLASTOMA MULTIFORME GRADO IV, alojado en el lóbulo frontal derecho de su cerebro, hasta el día de hoy le han realizado 2 operaciones, radioterapia y una primera etapa de quimioterapia.
Los costos son altamente significativos y lamentablemente su seguro médico no ofrece más cobertura. Los últimos exámenes realizados no registran rastro alguno del diagnóstico inicial y para asegurar que este no vuelva se requiere de un nuevo tratamiento de quimioterapia dividido en 8 ciclos, cada 21 días. Cada ciclo de quimioterapia tiene un costo de 9.000,00 USD, dando un total de 72.000,00 USD, a ser recaudados.
La primera etapa del tratamiento fueron 6 semanas continuas de quimioterapia oral (Temodal) complementadas con 30 sesiones de radioterapia.
La segunda etapa son 12 ciclos cada 28 días de quimioterapia oral y 8 ciclos medicamento mononuclear intravenoso (Avastin) cada 21 días.
Hasta la fecha se han completado 4 ciclos de quimioterapia oral y 3 ciclos de Avastin
La Dra. oncóloga ha decidido el tratamiento de Marco, con médicina mononuclear, por ser un tratamiento que tiene resultados positivos y efectivos. Preservemos la vida de uno de los nuestros, preservemos los sentimientos de solidaridad y lealtad, a todos nos puede pasar lo mismo, hacer la diferencia positiva en la vida de una familia y en la de muchos está ahora en nuestras manos, esto es alentador y edificante!

What would it be of us without our friends? Friendship is one of the greatest gifts in life, without a doubt an important piece of our happiness. As years go by, making good friends can be a stroke of good luck; you can’t buy, let alone send to be made. Friends cross our paths in life, and we can count ourselves lucky if they remain after two-thirds of our lives.
The objective of this campaign is to raise funds for Marco Duran; a dear friend, son, brother, father and husband, who is going through some hardship with cancer. During the month of May 2019, Marco was diagnosed with GLIOBLASTOMA MULTIFORME GRADE IV, located in the right frontal lobe of his brain. To date, he’s received 2 operations, radiation therapy and a first round of chemotherapy.
Costs for his medical treatment are extremely high and unfortunately insurance doesn’t provide coverage. Latest tests show no trace of the original diagnosis, nevertheless in order to make sure, a new chemotherapy treatment is required. Eight 21-day treatment cycles, each chemotherapy cycle has a cost of 9,000.00 USD for a total of 72,000.00 USD to be raised.
First treatment was 6 weeks of continues oral chemotherapy, complemented with 30 sessions of radiation therapy. Second phase of the treatment were 12 cycles of oral chemotherapy every 28 days and 8 cycles of mononuclear medication intravenous every 21 days.
