About Marc
In 2013, Marc Haney decided to be closer to his son, in Cleveland. He left friends, family, and employment in Toledo; and he gave up much in the way of security and support, knowing what challenges lay ahead, for the sake of being a more involved and supportive father. And so, he moved!
Then, in June, at the healthy age of 35, Marc suddenly had a brain anueurysm burst. He was taken to the Cleveland Clinic and remained in the ICU for three weeks. Through the help of wonderful surgeons and specialists, Marc is still here, still breathing, still a dork... but the journey has been slow and trying. After the initial surgery to repair the burst anuerysm, it was discovered that his brain harbored 3 more: little ticking time bombs that must be taken care of, one by one. He has a long road ahead.
In October, the second anuerysm was repaired, before it could burst. After each of these surgeries, his brain must recover from the trauma before another aneurysm can be repaired. The recovery from this second anuerysm has proven challenging, and Marc has recently begun to suffer from Grand Mal seizures and a pulmonary embolism. And our journey continues...
How Can I Help?
During this lengthy recovery process, Marc had to return to Toledo, to be close to those who can be nearby in case of emergency. The medical bills only continue to increase; and Marc cannot work, cannot drive, and resources are running slim. Sarah is currently holding 2 jobs to keep them afloat, but these limitations prevent Marc from being back where he needs to be, in Cleveland.
We can't imagine what the final tally will be, in medical costs. And help with bills is certainly where some of this money will go; however, our main objective is to help get Marc back to Cleveland.
His specialists for treatment remain at the Cleveland Clinic, and access to these facilities remains a dire need. Anything could happen, quite suddenly. He'd like to be where he feels he can receive the best treatment and care.
And Beckhem is there, his son. Other than the hospital visits and relocation, Marc's limitations in driving and income have resulted in less time with his son. Beckhem needs his father, and Marc needs his son.
These funds will be used for medical bills, and funding to get Marc and Sarah a place to live. Sarah will be with him, supoorting him in any medical and transportation needs as she gets herself set up with employment to pay for their living expenses. Please help, in any way you can. We realize that we are very lucky that Marc is still here. Now, moving forward, we need to help him as much as we can, until he gets through this.
