Support Mandy giving it up!!!!

A miracle in the making. When I, Julie Shembeda met Patrick McCord, I knew I had real love at last.  Fast-forward over 10  years, Patrick's adult son, Jim has an unusual kidney disease. After several years of treatments, he was advised that dialysis was in his future if the national transplant list could not match him with a donor. My daughter, Mandy heard about the illness. She had been listed as an organ donor on her driver's license since her teens.  Without hesitation, she offered her kidney.  The miraculous thing is they are both O+.  UPMC tested Mandy and she was found to be a perfect match.  Not being blood relatives the outcome for transplant improves Jim's chances of not contracting the same disease after transplant.  While the surgery is covered by Jim's insurance, Mandy's 6 weeks off work and expenses for travel to Pittsburgh, PA from Rochester, NY are unexpected costs not covered by the transplant process. All transplant donors face these extra costs which might be why some people are reluctant to donate.  Any donation you could give would be greatly appreciated in making this miracle possible.
