Yoga Saved My Life

Deadline To Raise Funds: August 5th, 2014
Goal: To start my Yoga Teacher Training this August 2014 with http://www.kaliyugayoga.com/YogaYoUniversity.html

My Story:
A little over a year ago I began my yoga journey not fully realizing the impact it would have on my life.  Yoga has saved my life, at a time when my life was in chaos. It felt like everything was going wrong in my life and I was off balance. I was mad at the world.

Next: It was easy for me to lose my temper, fly off the handle, and/or lose control.
Next: I almost lost my family.
Next: I went to my first class.
Next: I went from thinking yoga was just some hippies and flower girls form of exercising to realizing it is a science of realizing your truer self and integrating your body, mind, and soul.
Next: I had to open up and knock down walls.
Next: The transformation began physically, mentally, & spriritually.
Next: I'm a better man, husband, and father.
Next: I want to help others find peace and balance in times of discomfort and comfort.

A year later I am able to live off the mat by being in the present more, and most importantly let go. A year later I am able to handle any situation or obstacle the world may throw at me in a more positive manner based on what I have learned through yoga.

Now an opportunity has presented itself for me to start my first yoga training in the Fall 2014. With this opportunity, I will be able to do the following:

1. Provide workshops and private lessons as a certified yoga instructor.
2. Be an inspriation, a role model/mentor, and explain the benefits of yoga to men and others who are reluctant to start or try yoga.
3. Continue to share my passion of yoga, the benefits I have gained, and experiences through my practice of yoga.
4.  Deepen my practice so I can continue to make an impact on this world that cannot be erased.

As a husband and a father of five I currently do not have the funding to pay for my tuition on my own.  I am reminded of the saying, "What would you do if money wasn't an issue?" Well becoming a yoga teacher is one of those dreams.  I need help raising the tuition cost ($3,000) to fund this first part of my dream in becoming a yoga teacher.  Whatever is not used I will donate to a scholarship for participants in the Martin Luther King High School Black Achievers Program.

Thank You In Advance For Your Donation to Support My Dream. I truly believe The Most High has placed yoga in my path to take me to my next level. Please assist with however much you heart tells you to.  Any size donation is welcomed.  I have included several reward levels of donations with various perks.

Disclaimer: (Update 6/28/2014)
Rewards will take 6 months up to a year to fulfill after the campaign is over.
