We are the Jeanes' family and we are asking you to consider helping us raise the funds to bring our children home from Africa.
For the last three years, we have been blessed to go to West Africa to do missions work. On several of these trips, we stayed at an orphanage where we met two wonderful children. They are an adolescent brother and sister pair who have stolen our hearts. We have begun the adoption process and have been officially "matched" with our two children and look forward to bringing them home.
In the last three years, new government regulations have caused an increase in the cost of our adoption from $5000-$7000 to $25,000-$35,000. Most families who have a heart for adoption of orphans overseas do not have the finances to fund it. Like us, many families are sacrificing any extra expenses and going into debt to unite their families or ignoring the calling all together. In 2004, the US adopted 22,884 children. In 2014, the US adopted 6,441 children. That is a 72% decline in the number of children finding a family!! That is 72% more children that will most likely be put out on the street when they age out of their orphanage.
