Maggie's Surgical Fund

Maggie is my miracle rescue dog.  She has endured unspeakable physical and psychological abuse in her past at the hands of her prior adopters.  She had been starved, beaten, tortured, chained up and used for target practice.  It is believed she was also hit by a car in an attempt to flee from her abusers.  Her physical and emotional injuries were so extensive that she was not expected to survive or ever walk again if she did pull through.  Maggie has undergone numerous painful surgeries to repair her broken body.  Her shoulder, back and tail were shattered and she was paralyzed from the waist down.  Her tail couldn't be saved and had to be amputated.  After a year of recovery and extensive physical therapy, she regained the use of her legs and was able walk again.  Maggie is a fighter and a survivor.


The following year, she was diagnosed with Pannus which is an eye disease that causes blindness if not managed daily with medication.


As if she hasn’t been through enough, Maggie has now developed a perianal tumor which her vet fears may be malignant.  She needs surgery in the very near future to remove and biopsy this tumor.  Because the tumor is growing and near sensitive nerves, time is critical.  Maggie is not a candidate for pet insurance because of her many pre-existing conditions.  She now faces yet another surgery and a possible cancer diagnosis.  Anyone who knows me knows I am not one to ask for help but I am asking now for Maggie.  It has been a tough couple of years for me and I am trying to find a way to raise the money to pay for her surgery.  As hard as it is for me to swallow my pride and set up this fundraising page, I have to do it for Maggie.  Please, if you can help in any way, Maggie and I will be forever grateful.  Any funds raised will go directly to Maggie's medical bills.  Thank you so much for any help you can provide!
