This March, as the San Francisco Rose, I will be traveling with Adi Roche of Chernobyl Children International and a small group of other Roses to volunteer at Vesnova Children's Mental Asylum in Belarus. Our aim is to provide a bit of comfort, love, and affection in the lives of the children we will be meeting. The children of Vesnova are often abandoned there with just enough care to survive but not enough care to have any happiness in life. We will be providing these incredible children with precious one on one human contact which is so essential to human beings, contact that the children of Vesnova are often deprived of.
I'm asking for your help on behalf of these children. This will be a difficult trip for everyone in their own very personal way. Vesnova is located in rural southern Belarus. Each one of the volunteers making this trip will be sleeping on floors with no access to basic necessities such as a shower, yet each one of us cannot wait to be a part of this trip and spend every possible moment with these children.
I need to raise a minimum of €1,000 (roughly $1350 in US dollars) to give to CCI, but I also need help to raise the funds needed to cover translators, food, and visa fees. Any size of donation will be greatly appreciated and go a long way in my mission to make this trip and caring for these children a reality.
Please take a look at the video above for a glimpse into what our trip will be like, and feel free to message me if you have any questions! Thank you!
