Madison needs help!

I hate to ask for help, but right now we really need it. Our Madison Blue was hurt on Friday night (8/15/14). We spent hours Friday night at the emergency vet with her - and than most of the morning on Saturday trying to locate a vet that could help her. We finally found an incredible vet that welcomed us (even as brand new clients, with such a critical case) with open arms. I know many people would be blown away that one would spend so much on a dog... but to me, she is more than a dog- she is my companion, my friend, and I love her SO much, and just need her to be better, so she can come home. Saturday night she had surgery to remove half of her bottom jaw. Sunday she developed pneumonia and was really struggling to breath. Now, there is a chance she will lose a portion of her tongue. We have talked with not just the vets at the clinic she is at (there are 7 of them) but we have also talked about this with our vet, Dr Knigge- who we love and trust 100%- and they have promised that Madison WILL lead a normal life once she gets past all of this, she will not suffer- and it will not cause her not to be able to eat. She will learn to eat with just one side of her mouth, which she already has been doing since she does not have very many teeth on that side of her mouth.

We have exhausted every last bit of savings we have tending to all of the rescues/fosters that we have had, and continue to take in. We really want to help every animal that we can- but right now it is our own dog who is in need. If you know me personally, you know how important Madison is to me.

A couple months ago we went to Idaho and rescued 10 dogs - while that was so rewarding, it has really taken it's toll on us... it was a LOT of work to take on THAT many dogs, who were ALL in need of medical attention, and who ALL needed LOTS of work before we were able to begin searching for forever homes for them. We don't regret it one bit, but- we've still been trying to re-coop from that- and found about 2 more Chihuahuas who were in need, as well as a mixed breed mother dog and her 7 newborn puppies. There have been several others in between the Idaho crew and the bunch we have now- but we have been blessed by being able to get them all vetted and find them wonderful forever homes.

If you are able to help in any way, shape, or form... it is SO greatly appreciated, more than you will ever know!!! We are praying for a speedy recovery for our sweet Madison. It is not easy for us to ask for help, but, we need our baby girl home... it's just not the same without her.

Thank you so much!
