Handicap Van for Madeline

Dear Friends,

We are extremely blessed to have so many people in our lives who care for our special little Madeline like we do. We are touched and humbled by the generosity that many have shown to our little family. It is amazing the friends that Madeline has, even people who we have not yet met.

We are reaching out for help again in trying to acquire a handicap van to help us transport Madi around for her many appointments. Right now, she still uses an infant car seat when we go places; once we reach our destination, we have to pull her out of the seat and either carry her in, or she (and her brother and sister) has to wait 10+ minutes until we can put her wheelchair back together. The assembly and disassembly is beginning to take a toll on her 3 year old wheelchair. Madi also gets heavier every year, and it's only a matter of time that it'll become extremely difficult to lift her so frequently. Having a van with a wheelchair ramp would keep Madi comfortable without having to physically move her so much.

For those who aren't familiar with Madi's story, she's a 5 year old girl who's been diagnosed with Turner's Syndrome, with partial Trisomy 7. As it stands, we don't know of any other family that has this unique diagnosis, so we don't know what to expect as she grows up. She's already undergone several surgeries to correct a cleft palate, her hips, a G-tube, Nissin, ear tubes and tonsils/adenoids. This summer, she'll go through another surgery to remove the plates and pins from her hips. It would be amazing for Madi to be able to go to the hospital in comfort.

Any money that is donated after our goal is reached will go toward Madi's medical bills and a special needs bed for Madi.
