Sexual Assault Awareness

Sadly, our beautiful Madeleine left us on Saturday 26th August 2017 at the young age of 20, and took our hearts away with her.

Maddy was the kindest, goofiest and most perfect girl inside and out. She would always put everyone before herself and did whatever she could to make others happy. Her smile was contagious and was the light of every room. 


Unfortunately, Maddy was a victim of sexual assault in February 2017, shortly before she passed away.

Maddy was affected a great deal by this yet was determined to do something about it. Although it took an awful lot of courage, she decided to speak out about her incident in order to help other's going through something similar.




HELP ( http://www.wellingtonhelp.org.nz/ ) is a sexual abuse organisation based in Wellington, which supported Maddy a lot through her tough journey. They offer 24/7 counselling not only to the victims of sexual assault, but also to anybody who is concerned about a friend or family member. Maddy was a regular donor to this organisation and valued them highly.

Sexual assault is way too common nowadays and is not spoken about enough. It affects people in ways that we cannot begin to comprehend. In Maddy's memory, raising money for the non-profit organisation in order for them to continue lifting people up from their unfortunate circumstance, is a gesture that she would have greatly appreicated.

We love you endlessly Maddy, and will continue to do anything we can to make a difference.

I'm sorry your life wasn't as perfect as you are but I hope your paradise is more beautiful than we could ever imagine. Rest easy and we hope you are finally at peace with yourself.
