HAVE A HEART AND HELP A NEIGHBOR

Donation protected
When My family moved to Eastchester five years ago, it never felt like home until the Maddalena family moved in next door. Their family has ties to the town for many years and they decided to settle here also.   Frank and Doreen have kids the same age as we do, they both work hard and were so excited to start making their home their own.  Over the winter this year, Frankie thought he was suffering through bronchitis but it turned out to be much worse.  After some medical evaluation, it turns out a childhood heart condition had caused him to be in congestive heart failure.  Frankie  at age 41 needed an open heart procedure to replace the Aortic valve in his heart with a mechanical valve.  This procedure is deemed to be difficult enough but following the surgery the machine to circulate the blood  during and after the surgery called an ECMO caused muscle death in his leg causing Frankie to have his right leg amputated above his knee. While it has taken time, Frankie is slowly recuperating from his surgery but not without complications. He was in multi- organ failure but he is slowly improving.   Currently he is dealing with dialysis and stabilization of his medications but day by day , they see a glimmer of hope that he will survive this ordeal.
This has been a terrible time for the family.  While Doreen has had to brace for paying the mortgage and all the family bills due to his surgery, the financial burden has multiplied tremendously.   Frankie may never be able to return to work as a  union teamster (tractor trailer driver). The renovations needed to the house have changed now. The home now needs a shower on the first floor, a ramp, a bedroom which entails an extension and to make matters worse, a prosthetic for Frankie may cost thousands of dollars .  Right now, we are concentrating on the renovations so Frankie can come home after Cardiac & Amputee Rehabilitation.  I really want the Maddalena family to be able to stay in Eastchester.  If they get over the worst of it now,  I'm sure with time, life will get easier.  So, please find it in your heart to help this family and be able  to see firsthand where your money goes.  No donation is too small but ultimately, looking to make our goal to help with permits and construction.  I thank you ahead of time for helping.
