After finishing my A-levels this year, I have decided to do a social year abroad in San Juan, Argentina. I will be volunteering in a musical project, the Esquela Orquesta San Juan. The goal of this inclusive project is to alleviate the sociocultural hardship of children and young people from economically disadvantaged families through music lessons. Learning an instrument and participating in an orchestra provides more structure to their daily lives, they experience community, learn responsibility, and gain important success. This opens up new perspectives for their future.

Music has always been a big part of my life and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to learn instruments, be part of ensembles and growing through music.

It really shaped who I am – and now I have the chance to help pass some of those wonderful experiences on to others.

My job will be to support the daily work of the orchestra school: Helping with violin lessons, assisting the kids and also playing myself.

But to make this whole project possible and keep the Orquesta Esquela running, I need your support and that’s why I’m asking you for some help:
