MikeyNation (ZAMBARDI-QUINLAN)

Anyone who has ever met Mikey (Quinlan) knows what a personality he has; funny, smart, caring and infectious with his laugh. His personality is that of a wise old man in a body of a goofy 4 year old. On November 10^th their world was turned upside down, a simple doctor visit turned into a day that will change their lives as they know it. My nephew was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. A word, one word, that was never heard before immediately can send chills down your spine. Through prayer and contact with amazing people Mikey was immediately put in contact with a specialized doctor for his condition and location of the tumor. Amanda and Mike (Mikey's parents) are currently at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York , with a doctor who is both amazing and encouraging. This will be a long up hill road and they will need the support of friends and family to help them get through this extremely devastating time. At this point in time they are asking for time to get a grasp on the situation, but I was told to inform everyone they appreciate all prayers and concern. As Mikey's aunt I am trying to put together this Rally to help support my sister Amanda and Mike although there is insurance; due to the stage and rare type of cancer the hospital/treatment needed is all considered out of network, so the bills will be overwhelming and fast coming. Besides for the medical bills being extensive; the daily expenses of travel, food, gas, and housing are all going to be substantial as well. My sister has taken leave from work as well as my mother to be able to help her and comfort her grandson and even eventually help accompany her to and from the city. Mike is currently able to be out of work and staying with them; so for now funds are needed for their daily expenses. At this point we are in dire need of a filtration system at the house for when Mikey comes home, we need to have a special HEPA/ Pathogen filter installed due to his high concentration level of chemo. We appreciate any and all donations that can be made to help them concentrate on Mikey and the care he needs. I will be updating the page as often as I can to keep you all of you informed of his current situation.
