This campaign will cover my needs as a volunteer at Mountain Heart Nepal in country. Whatever excess I receive will go directly to our efforts, fund my nutrition intervention, and cover costs of medical camps in the remote parts of Nepal.
Here is more on what MHN does, taken from their website. MHN conducts medical camps in remote areas of Nepal and provides free medical treatment to around 20,000 people each year. It takes a lot of people to run the camps, including Nepalese doctors, nurses, medical assistants, medical students and youth organizations. Since MHN was established, they have conducted the camps in 9 districts and approximately 15,000 people have been benefited.
As time goes on, I will update more on this account, to include some general information on the country. There is a great need for nutrition education and interventions as rates of malnutrition are some of the highest in the world, child stunting is very common, and micronutrient deficiencies are widespread.
