Huxley had something hot burn him. We do not know if this was an accident or intentional, but our fosters treated him with medicines and kept him clean until all of the skin healed. The scarring caused his prepuce to be narrower, causing him discomfort when he urinated. This is a condition known as Phimosis . He had a surgery to remove skin from the prepuce so that he can urinate normally.
Casanova is 5-6 months old. He had a "healed" shoulder wound when animal control officers brought him to us. An X-Ray revealed that he was shot and the bullet shattered his right scapula. Shrapnel still remains in his shoulder and even abdomen. After two consultations and a specialist visit, we were able to determine that he wouldn't need an amputation, but would be on supplements until he was older, in which case he'd develop arthritis.
Cocoa is 12 years old. She was surrendered by a family who could not keep her. We discovered that she has a tumor in her lungs as well as a heart arrhythmia. With her age and condition, surgery is not possible. However, we are keeping her monitored and comfortable. She is still awaiting a kind family to adopt her, but in the meantime, she is being cared for in a loving foster home.
Zoey gave birth to four beautiful babies on March 9, 2015. They are currently battling a severe Upper Respiratory Infection, and Pixie (torti) also has a broken rib cage. The vet cannot operate on Pixie until her URI has cleared up. Right now the kittens are being cared for round the clock by volunteers taking shifts.
