MDN COVID-19 PPEs for Healthcare Workers in Malawi

                                                         MDN COVID-19 Call:
Campaign to Provide PPEs to Healthcare Workers in Malawi

Join the Malawi Diaspora Network in support of the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) response efforts in Malawi. We need your donation today to provide lifesaving Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like masks, gloves, and gowns to front line health care workers. Contributions of any amount are cherished since we must act immediately and collectively to get ahead of the pandemic in Malawi.

Malawians are resilient and have not been idly waiting for assistance from abroad. Since the initial stages of the pandemic, local communities have mobilized and improvised to make masks and hand sanitizer—while also setting up hand washing stations in crucial locations. Despite these homegrown efforts, we desperately need your support today before the pandemic morphs and overwhelms an already fragile healthcare system and economy. Malawi is the 5th poorest country in the world, with an estimated population of 18 million people. The doctor to patient ratio is 1 doctor per every 30,000 Malawians. (The World Health Organization)

Your donation will help amplify ongoing initiatives on the ground, protect Malawian healthcare workers at the front lines, and increase the capacity of our fragile healthcare system to care for Malawians suffering from COVID-19 and other illnesses.

If you cannot contribute at this time, please let others know about Malawi’s needs today. Thank you!

About: This initiative is coordinated by the Malawi Diaspora Network (MDN). MDN is a coalition of US-based Malawian diaspora organizations collaborating to address issues of concern to Malawians at home and throughout the world.
