We are the MCS Fund. The Meesha Chanell Saxton Fund is a fund that provides financial support for Sickle Cell Champions.  Sickle Cell Disease is a group of inherited red blood cell disorders. MCS Fund sole mission is to generate unrestricted funds for Sickle Cell Anemia affected individuals.

Meesha Chanell Saxton  was born October 17, 1995 with Sickle Cell Disease. Due to complications and the miseducation of this illness  Meesha passed  on December 24, 1996.

Meesha's mother Teresa S. McCurry has been a Sickle Cell Advocate  ever since. She started working with Cuyahoga County Sickle Cell Affected Families in 1997,but when they dissolved her passion to help those affected by this illness never left.   In 2004 she began working with a support group Kincaid's Kindred Spirits Inc. serving on the board of Directors as Vice-President.

In December 2017 she resigned from the position with hopes of starting a fund to help sickle cell affected individual in Cuyahoga County directly financially. In 2018 she launch the MCS Fund with a sole mission to help those individuals

Most individuals affected by Sickle Cell Disease are often hospitalized several times a year, making it hard to work a job consistently.  Many work  jobs that do not  provide sick or vacation pay this can result in individuals sometimes going weeks without a paycheck.

The MCS Fund was established to assist in these times of need. Since our launched in 2018, we have been able to assist with rent, food, utilities,  medical supplies and transportation. There are very few organizations that provide emergency funding especially  for those who are affected and struggle with this devastating  illness. Through supportive services and advocacy  it  is our way of serving the needs of those individuals  plagued by this disease.

During our  Annual Fundraiser we usually  generated a little over $5,000  that is used to provide emergency funding. Due to Covid-19 we were forced to cancel our fundraiser that is always held on June 19th (World Sickle Cell Day). We are looking to present  a virtual fundraiser instead. "Thank you for considering joining us in making a difference in the life of a sickle cell affected individual.

We greatly appreciate your donations, and it will be used to be a blessing to individuals and families affected by Sickle Cell Disease.

The MCS Fund needs your support  GOD BLESS  YOU  and THANK YOU in advance for your generosity.
