WHO ARE WE: We are a non-profit (501c3) educational organization working to establish a model that one day will be the standard for educating learning disabled students. We are the only accredited school with a University of California a-g approved college preparatory diploma designed specifically to serve students across a wide spectrum of learning disabilities. Students who have been educationally crippled by anxiety, autism, dyslexia, medical conditions, and those who have been under-challenged and turned off to education are able to thrive at MCP, in college and in life.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO LEARN DIFFERENTLY? The fact is that most students with learning disabilities are not cognitively impaired at all, and they rarely have the opportunity to develop their minds and prepare for college. At MCP, 100% of graduates are ready for college and life after high school. In the United States, 50% of adults with learning disabilities are unemployed. We’re working to shatter this statistic.
DIFFERENT NOT DISABLED: Students with learning disabilities are not disabled—they learn differently and need to be taught differently. At Monterey Coast Preparatory we understand how learning occurs and develop students into scholars. Beyond learning academic skills, they learn to understand themselves socially and emotionally. Our individualized, holistic approach develops all students into successful, confident and independent adults. Help us to fulfill our mission.
WHY SUPPORT MCP? Tuition only covers two-thirds of the cost to educate our students. We hope to be able to offer our program to any student in need. Every learner deserves a fair chance in life and access to a high quality education. Your donation to MCP will make a real change in the life of each student, as well as a major change for education.
