Thank you for visiting the Go Fund Me page for the Mark C. Fearon Scholarship Fund, benefiting culinary arts and hospitality students at Brookdale’s Culinary Education Center. Mark was passionate about pursuing his dream in the culinary realm, where he cultivated an amazing talent and made some lifelong memories during his short time with us.
Tragically, we lost Mark 10 years ago when he was just 17. Since then, his friends and family have tried to keep Mark’s dream alive by remembering him for what he loved most—cooking. I, Ally Dwyer, underwent a project this year (with help of our great friends) to commemorate Mark’s life, and built an outdoor pizza oven to host his family and friends while bringing together our culinary classmates and current culinary students for a fundraiser for Mark’s scholarship. I received Mark’s culinary scholarship 10 year’s ago when I went away to culinary school and if it weren’t for these types of scholarships I would not have been able to pursue my dreams and current career.
For those of you who couldn’t make it to Mark’s fundraiser / #PizzaProjectForMark, this page is a place to contribute—any amount big or small—to the Mark C. Fearon Scholarship Fund. We hope to raise $5,000 (we raised $2,500 at the fundraiser- thank you!) to distribute scholarships for culinary students that will be continuing their paths at the Culinary Education Center (CEC) in Asbury Park, NJ.
Applications for his scholarship will be available in the spring of 2016.
