Dear Friends, Relatives and Caring Hearts,
Are you ready for the most exciting fight of the century?? This is round 2 for me with cancer and I am going to win this round for a decisive victory!
In August, 2013, I was unexpectedly diagnosed with adenosarcoma and breast cancer. After treatments with chemotherapy and intravenous vitamin C, I was cancer free and feeling great.
I was fine until this past December when I got a bad flu and developed a residual cough. I can be very stubborn and didn't listen to several caring friends suggesting I get the cough checked out right away. I finally relented and had an x-ray performed which showed that I have three tumors in my lungs. I am scheduled to see a thoracic surgeon and will have a CT scan which will give me more information and a prognosis.
The cost of my previous treatment and surgeries was financially catastrophic. We lost our home and all of our savings went to pay for the first round of treatments even with good insurance coverage. Even now, I’m still struggling to pay the medical bills along with the everyday expenses of taking care of my kids. Over the last few weeks, my health has become progressively worse. I have constant back pain where the tumor is located, I’m often short of breath and I have a persistent cough. This wears me out quickly and I have to take frequent breaks to rest.
My biggest fear is not having the financial resources to take care of our everyday living expenses due to the extensive surgeries and treatment that are ahead of me. The metastatic cancer has made it almost impossible for me to focus on my son’s graduation from high school next year and my daughter’s artistic and intellectual endeavors. Being a mom is my first job and I really need to be there for my kids.
Many of you reading this have never met me but I want you to know that I appreciate your time and I ask for your prayers. This entire process has taught me about the precious gift of life and how ordinary people can become instruments of God’s mercy by sharing their time, their prayers, or their financial support to get through this. Above all, I ask for prayers for my children to strengthen them through these upcoming months.
Beyond this, I can't say what else is in store, but I can tell you that my stubborn nature refuses to give in to the cancer. I will continue to fight this with everything in me, and I will win!

In Round 1, we experienced an outpouring of Christ's love like nothing I have ever seen with earthly angels teaching me such sublime lessons on kindness, generosity, patience and the power of prayer and fasting. I am excited for the miracles that God has waiting for me with Round 2 and I will share them with you as they develop. Ready? Set? Let's GO!!!
