I'm Lucille Montague. I put off launching this fundraiser out of false pride. I hoped things would get better without help but that is no longer possible. After my husband died a few months ago this event left our finances at all time low. My daughter became very ill with a brain injury and MS and we have mounting medical bills. I was a caregiver for my husband during his long illness and had to quit my work as a therapist to devote my time to him and my daughter. He was the patriarch of the family and when he passed he left us bereft and at a loss. I hope to fund a funeral and memorial for him. My son Erik's little daughter is the light in this family.
I have been diagnosed with lung illness and need treatment which I cannot afford. The co-payments have been far too high for ultrasound or MRI.
Our rent has increased considerably from $2500 a month to $3000 and we can no longer afford to stay here. We also need help with moving expenses and the barest of necessities like food. The landlord raised our rent $500 because she hopes to receive an even higher rent. To make matters worse she sent a termination of tenancy document in the mail. Must move in 60 days and need 1st and last month's rent and moving expenses. It's overwhelming.
Most importantly I continue to be the caregiver for my daughter Jordana who is disabled from that brain injury and MS. She has been ill for 5 years. She is a very gifted singer, songwriter and has launched her debut album "SEE YOU ON MARS" hoping her CD will bring her some funds to pay her medical bills.
