Love Stories By Us For Us

Donation protected
Love Déjà vu is our first film project. Imagine in 1942, you walk into a Harlem bar and make the wrong decision regarding love. The same bar thirty years later, your spirit relives that scenario in a different body, only to make the wrong decision a gain. Another thirty years pass and in the exact same bar, with the exact same gathering of spirits, you finally get it right.

The setting for Love Déjà vu allows the characters to offer different perspectives on the evolving social-economic opportunities for Black Americans in cities over the past 70 years. There’s a naysayer who doesn’t believe the changes will amount to anything, “young people” who strive to better themselves, believing they can achieve great things, and a Johnny-come-lately who learns it’s never too late to “go for it.” I grew up with all these characters, learning valuable lessons from each of them. Through this project I will invite the wider community to get to know my family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and witness a small piece of the Black American story that has informed who we are today. Perhaps they will also see people from their lives reflected in these very human characters.

My name is Randall Courtland Davis. I am the founder of Saints Town Production LLC, named in honor of my home town of St. Louis, Missouri. Our mission is to produce content depicting the diverse lives within Black communities for a growing audience of people who appreciate storytelling that resonates beyond cultural boundaries.

I tell stories inspired by my love for Black people, my people, which authentically express the multi-faceted experiences of our communities. When I look around I seldom see our stories told accurately, or hear my voice in the Black characters on screen. The disservice done to our communities and culture by the often one-dimensional and negatively stereotypical portrayals of Black people on stage and in film and television has driven me to create content that will uplift, educate and inspire.

We are currently raising funds to produce Love Déjà vu, tentatively completing filming in the spring of 2021. The film will be submitted to festivals and used as a tool in raising funds for future productions. Any contribution to bring this vision to fruition is appreciated.

Déjà vu is an invitation to go on a journey with us, and will bring opportunities to further achieve our mission by producing six features, three television original pilots and two stage plays, I have written on our roster which tell stories of Black lives, human lives. I would be grateful for your support.  You can find more about  me and our company at www.randallcdavis.com Thank you.
