Glen & Lorin Jones recovery fund

First I'd like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read about my  cousin and her husband.

My cousin Lorin and her husband Glen Jones were hit by a truck on 76th and Edgerton Saturday (6/3/17) evening.  They and their friends on the other bike were rear ended by a pickup truck.  All 4 were injured, Lorin's injuries being the most severe. Her injuries have so far required a week long hospital stay where she has been treated for mulitple broken bones. She will require a great deal of follow-up care including special mobility equipment.

My cousin is one of the most generous people I know, always willing to lend a hand, offer a meal or a place to sleep. I just want to tell you a little bit about them and their generous spirits:

Glen is a veteran who served in the US Army 101 Airborne, is a member of West Allis Masonic Lodge #291, West Allis, WI where he currently serves as Sr. Warden. He has been passionately working with his Brethren in an extensive rehabilitation project of their historic building. Glen is also a member of Tripoli Shrine serving as Caption of the Guard, Chief Purveyor, president of West Allis Shrine Club & member of the Motor Corps. Additionally, he has been a dedicated member of Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association for 11 years.

Lorin (Christie) Jones, is a life-long member of Mount Hope Lutheran Church, member of the Order of the Eastern Star-West Allis Chapter, Vice Chair of Tripoli Women's General Auxiliary to Shriners hospital, a proud and active partner to her husband in Widows Sons. Through these organizations, Glen and Lorin have been able to pursue their passion of charitable work supporting Shriners Hospital for Children, college scholarships, veterans organizations, food pantries, clothing closet for the needy, Children's Dyslexia Learning Centers and many others. The vast majority of Glen's motorcycle riding miles have been for charity. As a Shriner, Glen has participated in countless parades for Shrine Charities. As a Widows Sons, the extensive list of fundraising the pair have participated in include Breast Cancer research & support, Autism, Masonic homes and battered womens shelters. Lorin served in several roles with the Girl Scouts, including running summer-long daycamps for many years. All of this in addition to helping out their parents, children and grandchildren.

Lorin and Glen would never ask for help themselves and now it's time we can help them. The financial burdens from their injuries are overwhelming, and I am asking for a little help from our community to ease a little of the worry. Even just a few dollars will help them!

Thank you so very much for your support.

*A note from Lorin's sister Tami:  Having this happen to Lorin & Glen is so terrible, because Glen is TRULY the safest driver I know, and Lorin is diligent about promoting safe driving and motorcycle awareness. Many people are unaware of the challenges my sister has overcome in life. She is a cancer survivor (a cancer she chose to postpone treatment for, because she was pregnant with her youngest child when the cancer was diagnosed). She raised 6 children, 3 of whom were brothers that she & Waming fostered and then adopted. She was a mother of 6 before she even turned 30, and my role model for outstanding mothering. When most people would be enjoying an empty nest, Lorin and Glen have been helping to raise their 9 year old grandson for many years now.

It breaks my heart to know that my sister is again suffering, when all I want for my her is for her to be comfortable and happy.
