Spende geschützt

Logan Michael Hajek is an effervescent, happy little boy with a heart of gold and contagious laugh that echoes for miles. At this current time, he has undergone six brain surgeries within his first year of life. His case is extremely rare and his exact medical diagnosis is unclear. He does not have the textbook case of hydrocephalus due to the fact that his cerebral spinal fluid, which surrounds the brain, is not consistently high. This presents a plethora of problems because when a VP shunt is in place, the pressure of the shunt tends to be too high, but when it is not, he presents all of the symptoms of high intra-cranial pressure and a potential brain bleed or infection. He suffers from vomiting, severe headaches, seizures, lethargy, and irritability. Furthermore, his body takes a very long time to heal itself from each surgery or incision without a clear cause.
Through it all, Little Logie has touched so many lives and has brought so much optimism and hope into this world.. At this very moment, he is singing to the nurses while getting an infusion. He is very attached to his family and always needs a hand to hold, face to touch, or body to snuggle with. He also enjoys playing with instruments, clapping, kicking, and being read to.
Family and friends strive to stay optimistic about his future. We can only imagine the positivity that he will add to this world. Unfortunately, his parents recently had to take him out of medical daycare due to the extremely high out-of-pocket cost per day. There, he was able to get the daily physical, occupational, and speech therapy that he so desperately needs. Medical bills for in-patient and out-patient stays or appointments, plus ambulance and helicopter transports are also becoming increasingly difficult to manage. At first, his parents tried to manage the expenses on their own, but with multiple surgeries, hospital stays, and time off work, the expenses are adding up rapidly.
Of course and most importantly, we must fill up Logan's days with happy, long lasting memories and experiences. He has spent a quarter of his life in a hospital bed, so we want to make the the time he spends outside with those he loves most really count. For the time being, there truly are no words that can show the appreciation we all feel for any type of help that he receives. Whether it be financially, or just a prayer or wish, we can assure you that Little Logie is forever grateful.
Thank you so much for your support!
