Locs For L.I.F.E.

Donation protected
My name is Junior Jabbie and I’m the President & CEO of Banneker Industries, Inc. Banneker was founded by the late Cheryl Watkins Snead, a woman that was near and dear to me both personally and professionally. As part of a promise I made to her and to myself, I committed to cutting off my dreadlocks if I ever got married or promoted to President of the company...unfortunately I never got married.

In January of 2018 Cheryl lost her battle with heart disease and I assumed leadership of the company. As part of my commitment and fulfillment of that promise, I have decided to cut off 14 years-worth of locs and donate all monies earned to the L.I.F.E. Program, a dynamic program that Cheryl founded 10 years ago in conjunction with The Links Incorporated and Bryant University. I am looking to raise at least $5,000 to cover the costs of 50 high-schoolers to attend the program this summer ($100 per kid).

The L.I.F.E. Program introduces high school students (many from the inner city) to exciting business and professional careers. Course content includes geography, international business, foreign affairs, and multicultural relations, as well as skill building, career planning, team building, time management, and course mapping. The kids have many opportunities to learn from Bryant University mentors, faculty and staff, as well as local leaders.
