Help Liz & George - Tragic Accident


Last week a dear friend fell down a flight of stairs. The fall was such a serious one that her neck was broken…in three places. She was one "damaged disk" away from complete paralysis. She required two rods, placed in the back of her neck, and a steel plate, in front of her neck….along with bolts and screws. It was a seven hour surgery. She is now homebound for an undetermined amount of time.

Liz Evanick is a small business owner in Avon, CT. She owns and runs the Artful Framer, and has been in the community for nearly 30 years.

Unable to work, along with the cost of the surgery, it is going to be a physically challenging and financially devastating time for Liz and her husband, George.

This is not the first tragedy they have endured. Fifteen years ago George was afflicted with Guillain Barre Syndrome...he was partially paralyzed for over two years. The couple has been unable to obtain a disability policy for him, and have had problems affording traditional insurance.

They did everything right….the six months of mortgage in the bank, savings and investments….but his illness wiped them out. They were barely able to keep their business and home. They have never recovered. Now, with this tragedy, it will be impossible for them to stay afloat.

Liz and George are people of high integrity and moral code. This couple has donated to many causes and charities….and helped many family members and friends in need.
