Helping Liz Rummel and Family

Donation protected
Hey everyone! Thank you for your time! My parents would not approve of me reaching out in this manner but I'm doing it anyways!!

As some of you may know, my Mom, Liz Rummel, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer this past August. The Doctor found two small tumors via mammogram and Mom received a partial mastectomy roughly a month and a half after the initial discovery. As of today, 10/17/17, Mom has Stage 2 Breast Cancer that's since metastasized to her sentinel lymph node. She's in Week 5 of her 16 week chemotherapy treatment and when that completes in January she will begin radiation.
The chemo is sure in full swing! Mom began experiencing all the expected side affects right around her birthday on 10/5, making it hard to get to her job at the Old Lyme Middle School in the cafeteria preparing and serving lunches every day. But my Mom will still get up when she doesn't feel too terrible and make sure she gets to work, not only because she enjoys her job but also because it's a paycheck and there's bills to pay. We've learned quickly that dealing with Cancer everyday is exhausting physically, emotionally, spiritually and also financially. Between making dinner for kids every night and keeping the fridge stocked, my parents are also driving to and from numerous Doctor's appointments and picking up all kinds of medications. So money has been moving quick in my parent's house.

Those of of you who know my Mom know that she will ask for very little while always offering everything she can. She raised 5 kids and housed dozens of foster kids through the years. She was also the producer for numerous Children's Theater programs throughout South Easteren Connecticut for at least 10 years, giving kids an outlet to express themselves and work through daily struggles. My Mom has always been providing for others and now I'm asking for her to be the recipient for once.

We don't know how long this process will take so $5,000 is just an estimate as to what we might need. Could be less or could be a whole lot more. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated, they would go towards groceries for the house and gas to get to her Doctor's Office in New London and the Hospital in New Haven and back. Also phone bills, electric bills, everyday things along those lines.

In short, I'm reaching out to ask for financial assistance for my family. Assistance with day to day necessities that will allow my Mom and her recovery to be the main focus for however long it takes for her to get better.
Thank you again for your time.
