Hello! Jaimie, here. I wish I could tell you that I'm a singer, a musician, an actress, a writer, etc. etc... But those dreams haven't quite come true yet. That's where you come in!
Short Story: I desperately want to attend the "Big Talent Showcase" this August in Las Vegas to demonstrate my vocal, acting, and writing skills to a wide array of industry professionals, attend seminars, and overall better my abilities. Unfortunately, my hostess job won't quite cover the expenses (entry fee, plane tickets, hotel room, and lessons.) If you would like to donate toward my campaign, I would be forever grateful! Thank you!
Long Story: My fingers are itching to explain to you all of the tragedies and traumas that have occurred within the last ten years of my life that have led to this decision to attend this showcase, but I'm trying to move on from these things and focus on the good that they (to my surprise) have brought into my life.
I can vaguely recall being five years old, dancing provocatively to Britney Spears in my neighbors living room (yikes!). I remember being 11 and winning Junior Grand Championship Actress of the World, but too afraid to leave my friends in Colorado to move to LA to pursue acting. I was fifteen when I had my first headliner show and started performing regularly with my guitar. After years and years of taking lessons and performing, here I am at 21, and I believe that I have finally found the opportunity I need to make my dreams come true.
The Big Talent Showcase is an event that is held twice a year. In August, they will be holding their second showcase in Vegas. It is an opportunity for artists to come and show their stuff to industry representatives of all kind. There is a competition, seminars, and most importantly, the potential to network with these reps. Kris Russell, the lovely lady who is helping me to prepare for this, has had several students become huge successes from this one event, and I want to be a success too!
Unfortunately, like most great investments, it costs some money up front (entry fee, airfare, hotel, lessons, etc.), and my job as a hostess doesn't exactly provide me with the monthly wages I need to pay for this. So, I come to you today humbly asking you for your help. If you have any spare change, anything at all, and would like to donate, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
Together, let's make this happen. And let's hope that what happens in Vegas won't stay in Vegas!
