Custom Toddler Beds

Five years ago I came up with an idea to make a toddler bed for my son as he transitioned from his crib to a big guy bed. ;) The picture below is the very first design. It has morphed into something much more refined and effective.
My son had a slight fear of the dark. I thought instead of using a traditional night light, I'd incorporate the night light right into the headboard using LED light strips. He reacted so wonderfully to it that when our daughter became aprehenisive about the dark, I did the same for her.

The first design consisted of a simple star, hand cut, using a jig saw. The second bed, created for my daughter, was a bit more involved. I utilized a local Fabrication Shop's CNC service to create a  more extensive graphic.  With this knowledge, I was able to offer customizable headboard graphics to the public. 


In years to come, this thing I do, will catch on and you'll soon see variations of my intitial designs/concepts. For now - all I want to do is create beds for ANYONE who wants one. I love kids!! And I like to hear when kids are happy. Not too hard to understand....right?






Here's what I'm asking from you guys; If I could get all of my friends, and maybe some of their friends, in Facebook land to donate $2.00, I would have enough money to acquire materials to build three beds. I'd then advertise them on ETSY and Craigslist. That's it. That's my goal. 

A portion of the money I'm asking for will go toward bench time at a local fabrication studio to cut the graphics I have in mind. I really cant wait for you all to see my next designs. I'm not looking for tools or a trip to Disney Land. I genuinely want to attract the attention of some families interested in my idea, and help make a little dude or dudette, super happy when they try to fall asleep.

Rest assured, the beds I build are made from sustainable materials that are both safe for your children and conscious of our environment. 

Ultimately, I hope this initial step brings awareness to my Lit Toddler Bed. I wish to arrive at a day when I can go into business for myself making customized childrens furniture and bedroom environments.
