The road from Lina Ceelen's recovery to the
  Jr. Olympics in Norfolk, Virginia

Wednesday, August 7, 2013 a tragic accident happened to our daughter, Lina, while she and some other kids were on the porch steps. A tree limb, the size of grown man fell from the tree, and landed on Lina. She was rushed to Tampa General Hospital. She was immediately treated for a skull fracture that caused brain damage and swelling of the brain, and bleeding in her skull. Her skull had to be opened to relieve some of the pressure, and stop the bleeding. She also fractured her eye socket, jaw, arm, and collar bone, and knocked out an unknown amount of teeth. She is currently in ICU......it was a long road to recovery....only leaving her with scars to brag about later in life. I raised her to be tough,...tears from a loving Parent's scared out of their mind trying to hold it together.  5 days in a coma 7 days in ICU and a grand total of 28 days in Tampa General Hospital. She had to learn how to walk, talk and other major life functions all over again. All while going through multiple surgeries to fix her:  Brain surgery to stop the bleeding and swelling leaving titanium bolts to be left permanently in her head along with the damage of the brain which she has overcome, Plastic surgery to fix her eye orbit and her broken jaw four plates inserted, two on each side of her mouth and then wired shut to heal leaving her unable to open it for two months. Only eating through a straw and speaking through her teeth or writing to communicate.

Now July 2015

not even two years later our amazing child she is now 13 still in advanced classes making above average Grades. Lina has become an athlete. She has been a member of her school's Cross Country Team making, All State in her age group, then a member of her schools Track and Field Team as well winning multiple awards for her placements in several events. Coached by Kevin Tuthill

Lina has spent her entire summer dedicated to Track & Field in the AAU program running under Coach Erin Prather's Team: Wings of an Eagle Ministries.
She has ran in multiple events state wide winning awards and now has qualified for the Jr. Olympics in Norfolk, Virginia thanks to these two great coaches and the extreme dedication and hard efforts from Lina. This is a great privilege and honor unfortunately very costly on our family to cover alone
So once again we reach out to the help of others to help sponsor our child who has risen up from what traumatic hurdles she had to overcome to become a great athlete to be blessed this great honor to be qualified and invited to run against the fastest kids in the country in the Jr. Olympics in multiple events.

No matter what our Prayers have been answered the lord has kept Lina with us and shown us the great things she is going to do now and in the future,

We as family Thank you for your past and current support most of all your prayers. Lina has and always will be our amazing gift our Super Trooper. Father Timothy Ceelen and Mother Brandy Bowermaster.
