Lily Beats Cancer - With our Help!

Lily and her family live in Geneva, Switzerland. Life was unfolding pretty much as it does, quickly and happily, until they received news in summer 2017 that Lily, then age 3, had Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Since then, Lily has been receiving treatment and has successfully undergone 6 rounds of chemo. The results have been great. She is a strong and fantastic fighter.
Lily and her family are travelling to Paris for 3 weeks in hospital starting this week, the first week of December, for surgery and brachytherapy (internal radiation). The surgery will remove any residual tumor and enable the radiation implant to reach the source, and brachytherapy will focus on the residual tumor, causing as little collateral damage as possible.
While most little kids spend December making Christmas crafts, going to parties, and making lists for Santa, Lily will spend 2 weeks in hospital and 7 days spent lying down, connected to many little tubes, 24 hours a day, while the radiation works. If you are a parent or have children in your life that you love, no doubt this will resonate with you.
With any luck, Lily should be out of hospital on Christmas Day.
A lot of us want to help. Over the last 6 months Judy and Nick have worked tirelessly to help get Lily on the best course of treatment possible. This has involved second and third opinions and travel and other costs that are not covered by insurance. The best team for Lily's treatment is in Paris, and so they will be there for surgery and radiation treatment. Insurance also does not cover the cost of family travelling/accommodations during her stays in Paris. But Geneva and Paris feel far, even in today's age of all things electronic and digital, and it can feel hard to contribute and help like we might otherwise like.
Cue curtain! Enter, this Go Fund Me campaign! A group of us thought that this would be a good way to support Lily andJudy and Nick through the journey of Lily's surgery, radiation and swift recovery.
They are at the beginning of a major chapter in her journey. Hopefully together we can help them navigate through it even a bit more smoothly. They are beacons of positivity and strength, and together we can help them worry about one thing a little less.
They plan to use the funds raised most immediately to support with costs during their long hospital stay and to hire some help for care with Lily in January.
Judy is my best friend since childhood, growing up in Toronto. Their family’s Toronto and Canadian and Swiss and Turkish communities can help them with this journey.
