Send Lilia to Asperger's camp!

Lilia was diagnosed with high-functioning autism (Asperger's) and ADHD in Dec. of 2017 at age 11, after years of struggling with school and friends. The best predictor of successful autism treatment is early intervention, but having been undiagnosed for so long, as many girls with ASD are, Lilia is a bit behind. Also a barrier, our insurance does not cover any kind of autism-related therapy, and they denied her referral for occupational therapy to help with sensory processing.
And so to summer camp! Camp Akeela in Appleton, WI http://campakeela.com/programs/wisconsin-camp-akeela/ is a camp "for kids with Asperger's and other quirky kids." It incorporates social skills training, occupational therapy, and speech therapy with fun camp activities. Kids get the opportunity to practice working in groups and forming deeper friendship, two things Lilia really struggles with. Camp Akeela is two weeks long and costs $3700.
Although she is good at exchanging pleasantries and making acquaintances, she does not have the skills for forming real friendships - something that, once middle school started, and the gap in skills became more pronounced, she started to become more aware of. She also has not yet successfully worked in a group with other kids at school - her group projects have all imploded because of her lagging social skills.
School has also been a big challenge for Lilia. She has attended three schools in town, but none have yet been a good fit for her. Now that we have her diagnoses, she gets some accommodations, but the sensory stimulation of simply being at school is overwhelming for her. A regular school day leaves her completely wiped out, falling asleep in her snack at 4:00 (and forget homework, dance class, piano, etc...).
Please help Lilia get to Camp Akeela this summer! Between medical bills for Lilia, her sister, and her mom (who all have chronic medical problems) and a $6300 estimate for the braces Lilia will get this summer, there was definitely some sticker shock when we saw the camp tuition of $3700. Our family appreciates your generosity!!
