Hurricane Maria PR Relief Effort

Donation protected
All proceeds will go to those in Puerto Rico devastated by the recent Hurricanes. They will receive the help they need to rebuild today.

I need your help to help others in need! Many people on the island sustain their living and support their families through tourism. Those in tourism, like myself, will not see the busy season this time around and in the foreseeable future. I am, however, fortunate enough to have the resources, family and friends to make it possible to remain on the island to help others. With my proprietorship, IGottoursPR here in Puerto Rico, and extraordinary organizations like PCNY and No Limit Auto Body in NY, family, friends and generous donors on the mainland, three 40 foot shipping containers full of supplies were organized and will be arriving in Puerto Rico, one at time with the first container sailing into the port on October 19th. It will meet the need of many on the island. Supplies will be delivered to those who do not have access to distribution centers.

In the mean time, I have been traveling to remote parts of the island connecting family members who have been unable to communicate with their families on the mainland.  Once I reach them, I connect them by phone, and/or social media to bring peace of mind to their loved ones looking for them.  In addition, I have been bringing them food, water, batteries, flashlights, diapers, etc to help sustain them.

Funds you donate will be used primarily for gas, transportation, meals to support the volunteers ready to distribute the supplies, and to help the victims that have yet to be reached by anyone else.

Never in history has two Category 5 Hurricanes approached the islands of Puerto Rico within a few weeks of each other. On September 6th, 2017, Irma, packed in winds of up to 185 mph ready to wreak havoc. At the very last moment, it sideswiped the island overnight sparing the catastrophe their neighboring islands experienced. The people of the island rallied together immediately, and gathered what resources they could to help their neighbors on the U.S. Virgin Islands.

With nearly 3.4 million people on the island and several thousands more refugees, the people of Puerto Rico were beginning to feel the emotional impact of Irma's power.

With little reprieve, Hurricane Maria made landfall near Yabucoa with sustained winds of 155 mph at about 6:15 am on September 20th, almost exactly 2 weeks after Irma. With an already weakened infrastructure, the island was completely devastated. In complete darkness, the people of the island remained with an unknown future.

Today, nearly 2 weeks after Maria, "Puerto Rico Se Levantará" (Puerto Rico Rises!), and with the namesake "Boriquen" given to the people of Puerto Rico, they rise up to the occasion with pure hope and strength to rebuild their island. They are certainly valiant.
