Mario-A Lifelong Gamer, Battling Massive End-Boss
Donation protected
They say that one of the hardest things to do is having to admit you can't do everything on your own. Sometimes you have to gather your best team and go in together.
My husband, is only 48 and has Cholangiocarcinoma, an aggressive and painful cancer, that has no cure. Mario is someone who can make anyone laugh and smile. He is an avid gamer, twitterer, movie-goer, self-imposed foodie and father. Today, he has trouble laughing, gaming, eating and sometimes, even smiling.
Please join in helping us fight this nasty end-boss!
The treatment for Cholangio is to keep it under control for as long as possible and hope that we get a miracle. This cancer happens in people with Ulcerative Colitis. He will be doing chemotherapy, until it is no longer effective. Chemo is very expensive and time consuming and without his income, my family is struggling to win the battle. He doesn't qualify for Medicaid at this time, there is a 5 month waiting period for his disability and roughly, 65% of my income goes towards medical insurance.
I have to take care of Mario and my family, and I'm failing. It is all I can do to keep the lights on, gas in the car make household bills and make small payments on medical bills. The bills just keep coming and coming and collectors are calling. Checking the mail has become a traumatic experience that usually ends in tears. We currently owe over $15,000 in medical bills, and have chemo scheduled out for every 2 weeks.
I'm asking for friends, family and the community to come together and help us fight. Friends have asked what they can do, and many have encouraged this GoFundMe campaign. Please consider helping with a donation. Even a small gift of any amount, will go a long way to helping keep him in chemo and to provide a home to live in, and keep the heat on this winter. Please help get the word out by sharing the GoFundMe link via social media.
Should you donate, proceeds will be used to fund the treatment, as well as to support his family with his ongoing care and medical costs along the way.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.
