Welcome to my GoFundMe page! It was created to help me launch my new personal growth strategy workshop: “Life without Limits”. It’s an online class at a price point that allows everyone to participate if they have a desire to change their life.
I’ve supported small businesses and individuals for six years as a consultant. I have survived a wicked start-up learning curve, a crap-tastic economy, a personal illness, family issues and a financial setback. And yet, I still have an un-mitigating desire to help individuals and businesses discover their Unlimited Potential. I am seeking to launch my first growth product focused on individual growth versus small business.

I have developed a personal growth workshop created to help individuals identify and design a career path uniquely fitted to their skill sets and life passions. My goal is to help individuals just starting out in their careers (college grads), those who are seeking new challenges (stay at home moms returning to the workplace, and those have difficulties finding employment after a job loss. My hope is to roll out this workshop in an online class format. Participants willing to spend a few hours going through the exercises and materials will gain the internal clarity and motivation needed to make a quantum leap in their lives.

Should this campaign be successful, I will be using the funds to launch the associated online class within a few weeks for $137. It will be a four module, self-paced, 24/7 online classroom format, as well as optional follow-up one-one break through sessions for $150.

My story:
In 2008 I left the corporate world behind and with knees shaking began the roller coaster life of an entrepreneur. I had many people warn me of how “risky” this proposition was for a single mom to embark on - you have no secondary income – you will blow through your savings!! Yes, it was all true, but I wanted to pursue my passion for helping small businesses so I closed my eyes and jumped!
I started by offering executive financial services (CFO) on an hourly basis to small business owners, based on the premise that all businesses need a CFO – but most small businesses don’t need one full time. I worked for multiple clients, some for a few hours a month, some for more.
After working with numerous clients I realized I could provide even greater value to my clients if I could help them focus on how they could grow their business. I designed a one-day 8 hour Small Business Strategic Planning workshop to help business owners identify how they would meet their 3 year growth goals. By defining their competitive differentiators, their target markets and the unique benefits they brought to their customers and much more, each company’s growth plan was born.
As much as my left-brain-self loves numbers, I was drawn again and again to working with the management staff of my clients. I knew if I could fully engage the leaders of an organization, they in turn could motivate those that worked for them. My focus and interests began to shift from number crunching to personnel development. I worked with managers and supervisors and analyzed what made them tick, how were they motivated, how to empower them with their job responsibilities and accountability. The trickle-down effect of these efforts was immediately evident by the business owners. Happy, motivated, empowered and rewarded employees are the engine of any success strategic plan and growing business.
About this time the economy went into a landslide and we all felt the effects. I was able to continue to eek by and not throw in the towel on my fledging business, but I saw many friends, peers, family members and acquaintances get down-sized from decade long careers. When weeks turned into months and often months into years of job searching for these individuals, with no results, their devastation and ebbing hope was palpable
I wanted to help, but wasn’t sure how I could be of service. Then one evening after a long long long discussion with a good friend about what I saw as her unique talents she had to offer any employer, I realized how I could help them in their fight to re-gain employment, re-build their financial lives and restore their bruised self-esteem.
I began to work on a new product that blended some of the concepts used when creating a strong business growth strategy and also some coaching elements on how to re-program your brain to think outside the box. I rolled out a very preliminary test run to a dear friend who had confided in me that she wanted to change careers. She was a very successful retail store manager but wanted to try something different. This individual was so dynamic and full of potential I couldn’t wait to hear the direction she was headed. When she told me she wanted to return to school for Business Administration I nearly broke into tears. I began to inventory for her all her unique skills that would be underutilized in that capacity. And she said to me, what I had heard a thousand times over the previous months from other unemployed individuals. “Well, what else would I do?”
She was willing to work with me on defining her unique skill sets, what made her tick, what motivated her, what made her passionate etc., and together we would design a career that was uniquely suited for her, and that would encompass everything she was passionate about. Together we discovered she was extremely passionate about children, her church and travel. We also identified her strongest and most unique skill was her ability to approach and engage almost anyone in a meaningful conversation. I had nick-named her Oprah II, because I had seen her in action and people gravitated toward her and within minutes would be sharing their life stories. I told her this as a magnificent and incredible gift and it would be unforgivable to not utilize it in her career aspirations. By the end of our session we had crafted a career trajectory where she would get engaged in her church’s youth ministry and develop a program for teen’s that has a focus on counseling and communication. The second phase of her career design was to eventually incorporate travel (church ministry trips) to impoverished countries with her teen groups for humanitarian causes.

Practically floating on the success of this first mini-workshop, I began to research and create material for a full blown workshop on defining your life without limits. A fundamental requirement for me was to be able to keep the cost down on the workshop. I believe it has incredible value for those just entering the workforce such as college grads, those re-entering the workforce such as stay-at-home moms returning to work or those in transition seeking new opportunities such as those downsized by the stagnated economy or those going through a whole life spiritual transformation and seeking their true calling or soul purpose. Most if not all of these groups have limited funds at any given time. So my goal is to launch my workshop as an online class, a series of videos that can be self-paced, and offered at a price point that was exceedingly reasonable. The second phase is to create a free online forum where participants can communicate with each other, educate and perhaps even barter for services to help them start their own businesses or network for opportunities.
Following the launch of this first product, I have two additional workshops I would like to offer in the immediate future. “Painless Networking” and “Small Business Growth Planning” The income from this product launch will make that a reality. Thanks!
