On December 20th 2013 Liane underwent extensive testing. Her primary care physician told her she could possibly have cancer and needed to see an Oncologist. Not the kind of news you want to hear just days before Christmas. The Oncologist couldn't see her until after the New Year. On January 3rd he reviewed her tests and told her she had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma stage 2B Cancer! Her oncologist suggested that she presereve her fertility via egg freezing. This procedure is not covered by insurance and is very expensive.
Like other hard-working Americans, Liane doesn't complain about what life has given her and she always finds a reason to smile. But even with insurance the costs for non-covered medical procedures, co-pays, chemotherapy, medications, and all the traveling that goes along with it are overwhelming for her. Liane's expenses are multiplying while her income is dependent on state disability. She has to make several trips to the doctors' each week and her doctors are more than 65 miles each way from her home. Your donations will go to Liane for such things as: gasoline, doctor and hospital co-pays, medical insurance premiums and non-covered medical procedures. Over just the last 2 weeks she's had 8 doctor appointments and 2 operations. These costs add up quickly. This is why we are asking for your help during this difficult time for her.
How would I describe Liane? She's: Kind, Caring, Strong and Powerful.
I'm not sure there is any single person in this world this is as kind and caring as Liane. She finds the best in everyone. She welcomes everyone with a smile and offers anything she has, even if she needs it for herself. She had a classmate in high school whose brother was very ill and the family didn't have money to buy new school clothes for the start of the new school year. Liane selflessly opened up her own closet to her classmate and told her to pick out anything she wanted.
Strong in an understatement! Liane supports everyone around her, making sure they have what they need before worring about herself. Her family has already gone through so much in this life to break them down, and yet they hold strong to each other with amazing hope and faith. This fund raiser is so important because she has been her parents' caregiver after her mother had two heart attacks and now has congestive heart failure and her father had a massive stroke. They lost their home and both are on disability. She did everything for her family all the while working 50+ hours a week, never complaining always making sure they had what they needed. Even now she wants to take care of her family, but now its time for others to help her.
Her strength is never-ending and matchless. She is my role model, she's powerful, she doesn't take no for an answer, and she won't quit! Nothing is impossible for her. In life we set our own limits, Liane doesn't set limits only goals. Just as she has tackled each challenge in her life, she will face this next challenge head-on with all her family and friends by her side.
