Let's Solve Hunger!

Donation protected

Hello and thanks for checking out our GoFundMe Campaign!

We are a team of four recent MBA graduates from Colorado State University's Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise Program. It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce our team's acceptance into the highly competitive Hult Prize Competition

THE HULT PRIZE

The Hult Prize is a start-up accelerator for social entrepreneurship that was recently named one of the "top five ideas changing the world" by Bill Clinton and TIME Magazine. In partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative, the Hult Prize has created the world's largest student movement dedicated to solving the most pressing social challenges on the planet.  President Clinton personally selected this year's challenge: The Global Food Crisis in Urban Slums.

THE CHALLENGE

From March 1 - 3, 2013, our team will travel to the Hult Prize Regionals in San Francisco where we will pitch our most innovative business idea addressing food security in urban slums.  We are proud to be the only team representing Colorado selected to participate in San Francisco.  If chosen as the winner, our team will move into the Hult Accelerator in Boston where we will spend the summer honing our solution.  The Hult Prize culminates at the annual Clinton Global Initiative meeting, where President Clinton and other CGI meeting attendees will select and award the winning team with $1 million USD to implement their solution.

THE TEAM

Our team is versed in triple bottom line business model execution.  As GSSE students at Colorado State University, we have focused our education and career aspirations towards serving people who have not always been seen as traditional consumers. It is our firm belief that market-based business approaches offer sustainable solutions to systemic global challenges, including the global food crisis.  Furthermore, we've developed a high level of cultural intelligence through our work experiences across eight countries, including diverse exposure to global food systems.  Last, and perhaps most important, we share a passion for driving sustainable development and have demonstrated our ability through past work to rise to the challenge.

THE ASK

We greatly appreciate your interest in our team and hope you will consider contributing towards our travel to Hult Prize regionals.  The funds donated here will be used in the following ways:

- Travel to San Francisco on March 1st to compete

- Execute the necessary market research to validate our business idea

Host meetings to form strategic relationships with prospective partner organizations

We are also seeking support in other non-financial ways, through mentorship, connections and strategic partnerships.

THE NEED

In 2013, hunger and malnutrition is unacceptable.  The time for analyzing case studies and reports from behind computer screens has passed. We are equipped with the skills to execute a market-based solution on the ground, in countries we have traveled to, lived in and come to love.

Please, help us to begin our journey as we play our part in ensuring food security for every person on this planet.
