Laywer fund for Custody case

This is a GoFundMe page set up for our friend, Ross Singer, to help him secure a lawyer to represent him in a custody case with his ex-wife, Cynthia Robey Singer.

Ross faces a serious challenge and he needs our help.
In February, Cynthia is going after full custody of their daughter, Zion. This is completely against Zion’s wishes as she does not want to be uprooted from her father, her home, her friends, and her school. She is happy where she is and is scared that her mother will stop at nothing to take her away. She has been estranged from her mother for almost 3 years since her mother had abandoned and left them after being evicted.

Late last year, a judge removed their son, Ezekiel, from Ross’ custody and gave his care over to Cynthia, without proper judicial investigation. The judge made a hasty decision without reviewing all of the case histories which included a recommendation from the Children’s Protective Services Case Worker that Cynthia has a full mental evaluation before any change in custody arrangements take place and that the children stay with their father who has provided a safe, caring and loving home.  In July of 2015, after over 2 years of being kept from seeing his children, after spending his savings and over $25,000.00 plus on legal fees, after she had arranged for an unstable friend to drive the children to an out-of-state location where they were then abandoned without supervision so Cynthia could attend a concert. The courts quickly awarded Ross custody where he again provided a safe home where the kids had their own rooms, their own space, and opportunities to excel in life.  When she did finally resurface, the negative impact and repercussions of her involvement started again. She started to call CPS and the children's school as well as the local police to make false claims and file abuse charges against him, only to have them all dropped as unfounded. She also started to manipulate and lie to the children by trying to convince them that Ross had "stolen them from her".  She has proven to courts in multiple states and counties that she is untrustworthy, unstable and is not a healthy choice for the children at this time. She has continually refused to help or pay any child support for almost two years and continues to cause mental and emotional damage to the children. She has chosen to not see her children for over 2 years nor has made any positive steps in attempting to even do so. Instead, she has continued to manipulate, lie and cause irreversible damage to the children.

Ross loves his kids and he needs solid legal representation to fight for what is in the best interests of his children. Unfortunately, his ex-wife has exhausted all of his savings during the divorce proceedings as well as all the local county and NYS public defenders, making their involvement with Ross a conflict of interest and they will not represent him.

Ross needs private counsel.  A private lawyer is his only real chance of being heard by the courts and doing what is best for his kids. For years he has continued to fight diligently, doing everything he can to protect, provide and support his children. If you know him, you know this to be true. He is a good father who loves his kids, a good friend, has a good heart and is a good man, he deserves to be heard and helped. He has a lawyer who is asking for a $2500 retainer immediately to start the process for the court date on February 13th. We are asking for a goal of $5000 to help cover additional expenses and court fees as this has already been dragging on for years.

All donated funds will go directly to the attorney and no amount is too small.
