Lets Help Sasha Come Home.

Hello everyone, this is Sasha's loved ones reaching out to you. As many of you will know Sasha has been in the hospital for the past 3 weeks following a serious brain surgery from a tumor on her cerebellum in addition to her underlying colon cancer. While the surgery was successful in taking care of the imminent danger to her wellbeing. The truth is that the tumor has left numerous deficits both cognitive and physical so that at present Sacha cannot stand or walk unassisted and she needs total care. Although she can carry on a lucid conversation and knows exactly what is going on simple things like basic math are quite beyond her.
Of course she has medical insurance which has covered most of her hospitalization but the policy she has is stingy to say the least on paying for rehab, home health and physiotherapy. If there is any hope of her ever getting back to her old self she will need weeks or months of therapy. Those of us who have followed her journey in defying this horrible disease know that she has very little time to spare, and so with this being said we come to you to ask for support.
There are only one or two rehab facilities which will accept her insurance and they are horrible to put it mildly. Places where no one would put even a worst enemy into, much less a beloved child or friend. There are NO circumstances where we would allow Sasha to be sent there. we are still trying to get a half way decent facility to accept her insurance but we may not be successful.
Sasha wants to come home, she wants to be surrounded by the things she loves and longs to be with the people who love her but at least for now she will need 24/hr per day home health care and therapy, very little of which is provided on her insurance. this is where you all come in. Help us bring Sasha home where she can start to recover and be able to spend time with the ones she loves.
Many of you have written to say how much Sasha has meant to you and some have even written to say that she played a part in saving your lives by urging you to have screenings which turned out to be possibly lifesaving. We have never asked for anything from anyone and have already paid out considerable sums in co pays and deductibles. The immediate future costs are way beyond the ability of a single person to meet although those of you who know her parents will appreciate that they have done everything possible for their one and only child, you will also know that they are retired and live quite modestly, but have done everything possible to make sure Sasha has had the best health care possible.
If you can help Sasha financially in any way we can assure you it will be used for her sole benefit and we would all be immensely grateful. After so many years of Sasha giving so much to everyone lets join together to give her the homecoming she deserves!
